Meet Maha

I’m Maha and I have a passion for nurturing health and achieving total wellbeing. My fascination with the human body and its complexities sparked early in life, leading me to pursue a BSc in Pharmacy from the University of Amman Al-Ahliyah. This foundation laid the groundwork for my career in the Pharmaceutical Industry, which was further enhanced by an MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences from King’s College London.

After moving to Portugal and embracing the rewarding role of a full-time mum, I faced health challenges that drove me to explore alternative approaches to wellness. This journey reignited my professional aspirations when a friend introduced me to the world of naturopathy and nutritional therapy. I enrolled at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2016 and proudly received my diploma in Nutritional Therapy (Dip. NT) in 2020, after undergoing around 200 clinical hours.

In my practice I apply principles of functional medicine as well as evidence-based nutrition. This entails evaluating clients with an individual-centred approach rather than disease-centred, investigating root causes and studying holistically all body systems and imbalances to provide clients with a personalised health plan that meets their needs and goals.

Nutritional Therapy : aims to support the body and nourish our organs to obtain optimal health. Its goals are restoration and repair being guided by your own specific and individual needs.
My Approach : I apply a holistic approach keeping in mind the four health pillars: Nutrition, Exercise, Mental wellbeing, and Sleep.

With the aid of nutrition, supplements (on certain occasions), lab testing (including nutrigenomics) and through lifestyle changes, my support is always personalised

Education : is an integral part of the healing process; therefore, I promise to guide my clients to better understand their health and what factors impact it, giving them the tools and knowledge to take back control of their health and achieve optimal health.
Plans : are tailored to each person’s unique needs, considering lifestyle, ethics and food preferences. They are based on research while being individualised rather than one size fits all.
Tools : Naturopathy: emphasizes the benefits of whole and organic foods and their use as therapeutic agents. It is based on stimulation of vital force through the air we breathe, the sun, clean water and a healthy diet. It also focuses on detoxification for healing and achieving optimal health.
Functional Medicine model: one can dig deep using various tools as complete medical, nutritional, and family history, tongue analysis and functional testing including DNA health testing to address root causes while taking into consideration all body systems, not just those showing symptoms.
